These datasets were created from 7 paper maps which showed the names of property owners in Madison County. These maps did not show any property boundaries. The only line work on them were PLSS quarter sections. Thus the property boundaries were drawn using existing property boundaries, 40 acre grid squares and natural features like streams. We make no claim of the spatial accuracy of these property boundaries. Rather these boundaries are shown as best estimates of the size and shape of the original properties.
